“Aaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!” You wake up in a cold sweat screaming! Your eyes rapidly scan the room as if looking for something. What? What were you looking for? You can't remember. In fact, you can't remember anything about the nightmare. You try hard, but the only thing you can remember of the twisted dream was darkness. You shiver at the thought and push it away. Just then, it hit you! School! You look at your clock. You're late! Today's Monday and you're going late! You get dressed, brush your hair and teeth, run downstairs to see that breakfast is already made. You gulp it down and notice a note on the table. You pick it up and read it while running around the house grabbing everything you need for school. “I have to work late tonight. Don't wait up for me. Dinner's in the fridge. -Mom” You grab your coat and put on your shoes. Ready to run out the door to catch the bus, you freeze and read the last part of the note “P.S. School's out for a snow day!”

You just stand there unsure of whether you should scream for joy or groan for all of that wasted effort. You turn around, walk into the living room and flop on the couch. You just sit there staring blankly into space. You sigh and finally decide to make something of yourself useful. You get up and walk to your bedroom. You sit down at your desk and begin to draw in your sketchbook. Your look out the window searching for something to draw.

“Wait a second!” It was snowing out! Of course it was! A snow day obviously equals snow! You put down your pencil and run downstairs. You were just about to leap out your door when you hear the phone ring. You sigh. And, you were so close to entering the white wonderland! You pick up the phone and speak drearily into the mouthpiece.

“Hello?” You ask.

“Hello, (y/n), is that you? It's Jamie and Sophie's mother.”

“Oh, hi. Do you need something? My mom's already at work. I can tell her you called.” You say, eying the door eager to see the white flakes dancing in the air.

“Oh, no. I actually wanted to talk to you this time. Are you free to babysit Jamie and Sophie again today? I still have to work. Because of the snow day, I have no one to watch them while I'm gone.” She said as if she was in a rush.

“Ummm... Yeah, I'm free. I'll be over in a few minutes.” You say half-heartedly.

“Great! You're a lifesaver! I'll tell Jamie and Sophie. See you soon. Oh, and thanks again!” She replied with a sigh of relief.

“No problem. See ya.” You hung up. You sigh. Well, there goes your winter wonderland adventure! You grab what you think you'll need to occupy Jamie and Sophie and stuff it into a small gym bag. You grab your sketchbook and add it to your collection of things. After that, you open your front door. Blinded at first by the reflection of light on the pure white blanket of fluff, a beautiful picture perfect sight appears. You smile, unable to contain your joy. The first thing you do is destroy the perfectly untouched snow. You stand on it triumphantly as you have made the first footprints in the deserted area. After having your moment of glory, you begin to walk towards Jamie's house. Babysitting Jamie and Sophie won't be that bad. I mean, you'll have someone to play with in your wintery world. That is, if they decide to go out and play. You doubt Jamie would say no to a snowy adventure. Jamie loved the snow almost as much as you did. You trot along the snow-covered path, listening to the crunch of frozen water as you  go.

A voice pulled you out of your little world. “Hey! (y/n)!”

You turn to see a familiar goofy smile attached to a waving man. “Hey!” You yell back while waving.

Zack walks toward you. “And, where are you off to with that hefty bag?” He asked cheerfully.

“Jamie's house. I agreed to babysit Jamie and Sophie because of the snow day.” You reply.

“Aww. Hoping for a free day? Hehe, I got one!” He said teasingly.

You push him. “Of course! But, it doesn't matter 'cause Jamie, Sophie and I are gonna get to eat mom's special cake and you're not!” You tease remembering the cake you put in your gym bag to share with the two kids.

“What?! Your mom made her special cake?!” His eyes turned to puppy dog eyes. “Please? Let me have one slice?”

Sometimes you wonder just who's the older one here. “No.” You say and continue walking.

You could have sworn his eyes got larger! “Pwetty Pwease?” He bats his eyelashes at you.

You give in even though you know it's just an act. “Fine, but only if you babysit Jamie and Sophie with me.”

He smirks and rubs your hair. “Whatever you say, kiddo.” He suddenly feels like an adult again. You reach Jamie's house and inform Jamie's mother about the new plans.

“Oh, that's fine. I'll feel even better if Zack is around.” She said smiling. What'd ya mean you'll feel better? You act like he's babysitting me, too! Of course, you keep that thought to yourself.

Jamie's and Sophie's mom leaves, and you begin your assigned job. Sophie fell twenty-three tim-
You hear crying. Make that twenty-four times. If there was a way to fall, I swear Sophie would find it. And, if there wasn't, she'd still find it! Finally, Zack got her to draw some fairies helping to eliminate all possible injuries. I decided to check up on Jamie since Sophie had my occupied most of the time. He find him drawing. He was drawing something, or rather, someone. It looked like a boy. With white hair and no shoes?

“What ya drawing, Jamie?” You ask. You curiosity is definitely getting the better of you.

“Jack Frost!” He said excitedly.

“Really? You believe in Jack Frost?” You said with amazement. Just only last year, Jamie didn't even care about Jack Frost, and now that you take time to notice it, his room is covered in Jack Frost drawings!

“Of course! I've met him! In fact he me I was his first believer! He's so cool! He beat up Pitch and- and saved everyone in the whole wide world! And even though he's a guardian he still comes to play with us! And-”

“Woah, woah! Slow down, Jamie!” You say. The kid was so excited, he wasn't even breathing after whole sentences! You had never see Jamie this excited before, even for Santa Claus and Bigfoot!

“But he so cool!” Jamie paused. “Wait, didn't you see him yesterday?”

“What are you talking about?” You ask confused.

“Jack Frost! Didn't you see him yesterday? In the snow? He was there during the snowball fight! He throw the snowball at Zack and the one at you, too!” Jamie said looking worried.

“Jamie? What are you talking about? I thought you and your friends threw the snowball a Zack.” You began to sense his worry, but didn't know what could be bothering him.

“You really didn't see him?” He asked. You shook your head “I thought at least you'd believe. I mean, you love the snow more than me.” He mumbled.

“What?” You ask, unsure of what he meant.

Suddenly, a wide toothy smile spread across his face. You started to get a very very bad feeling. “Then, I'll just have to show you!” He shouted and jumped up. He ran down the stairs dragging you with him.

“Jamie! Jamie, stop! You shout, but the energetic boy continues to drag you.

Zack must of heard your scream because he screamed back. “(y/n)! What's going on?!” Too late! Your already being tugged out the door. Everything you passed was a blur. You were only focused on Jamie who was running out in the middle of winter with no coat. More importantly, he was dragging you along without a coat and shoes! Your socks were soaked! You wanted to break free of Jamie's grasp but are afraid of hurting him. You decide, even though your socks are drenched and you're freezing, you'll let Jamie take you where ever he's taking you and scold him after you're back at the house. After all, if he's this upset over whatever he's upset about, you should let him show you. But, show you what? You wonder. Suddenly, your non-voluntary roller coaster ride stopped.

Jamie let go of your arm, and cupped his hands over his mouth. “Jack! Jack! Are you here?!” He called. “There's someone I want you to meet! Jack!”

You walk over to Jamie and place a hand on his shoulder. “Jamie?”

Jamie ignored you. He ran out further. “Jack! Jack! Where are you?!” Jamie yelled and continued running until he heard a crack.

Suddenly, you realize where you are! The pond! The frozen pond in the park! And, Jamie was right in the middle of it! You looked down toward his feet. Your fears became reality when you realized what that cracking sound was!

“Jamie!” You yelled and rushed out to aid him. But, you stopped, knowing that if you went any further Jamie would surely plummet to watery death! Death? No! You shook your head. No, that wasn't going to happen! You were going to save Jamie! Somehow...

“(y/n)...” He looked up at you with fear in his eyes. You could make out a tiny tear leaving his eye. Alright, you can't freak out! You're the adult here, you tell yourself. If you freak out, Jamie will freak out. And, then he'll be gone! He'll fall it to the cold sea of ice!

“It's okay, Jamie!” You say forcing a smile. You look around searching for something! Anything! Anything that could save Jamie! Your heart sank. Nothing. You thought about calling out for help, but that might cause Jamie to panic. Please! Please someone! Something! Save Jamie! Zack! Jack! Whoever! Just save him! You hear another crack.

“Jamie, just stay calm. I'll-” Another crack! You couldn't hold it back anymore. A lone tear escaped your eye. You could see Jamie's fear growing, but you couldn't hold it in! He began to cry.

“N-no, Jamie. Everything's going to be fine!” You say, fighting the tears.

A splash! “JAMIE!!!” You leap without thinking toward the cracked ice! You swish the water back and forth desperately searching for the little boy! For Jamie! “Jamie! JAMIE!!!”

“(y/n)!”

It can't be! You turn around as best you can to see Jamie floating in mid-air. “Jamie!” The tear flowed out of your eyes. “Jamie!” You were so happy to see him safe you forgot you were still on the ice. Another crack wakes you up!

“(y/n)! Listen to me! Jack's here! He saved me! He can save you, too! You just have to believe in him!” Jamie called to you. He was now safely on land.

“Jack?” You manage to say.

“Yeah! Jack Frost! Just like I told you!” He continued.

Jack Frost. A winter spirit. A myth! He's  here... and he can... save me. You have everything to loose! Everything is on the line.

“I believe...” You say weakly.

“You can't just say it! You have to mean it! Believe, (y/n), believe!” Jamie yelled.

“I-I believe in Jack Frost!!!” You yell out with all you heart.

“Alright, then.” A tender deep voice said. “Hang in there, kiddo!”

“Zack?” Your vision is blurred by tears. It sounded like Zack, but at the same time, it didn't. You feel yourself being lifted into the air and place on the cold snow.

“No, it's Jack. Jack Frost.” The voice said. Somehow the voice was comforting.

“Jack? Frost?” You still seem confused because of the shocking situation you were put in.

“Is she going to be okay?” Jamie. That was Jamie's voice.

“Don't worry, Jamie? She'll be fine. She's just a little scared. That's all.” You didn't realize how heavily you were breathing until now. Your vision was began to clear. You finally see two figures form. One was Jamie and the other... a boy. A teenage boy with white hair! You look at his feet. And bare feet?

“Jack Frost!” You yelled and sat up to quickly.

“Hey, hey. Easy there, kiddo!” He holds a hand over you pushing you back down. You, too dizzy to protest, let him. While trying to make sense of the situation, you remember some of your lonely snow memories.

You sit up again. This time slower, and turn to the winter spirit. “Jack Frost. Thank you.”

“Hey, it's my job after all. Besides, Jamie's a close friend. I wouldn't let him get hur-”

You cut him off. “No, not that. I mean, yes, thanks for saving Jamie. And, me too. But, you were the one that played with me when I was lonely! When I first move here, right? You were my winter friend!”

Jack just sat there stunned for a moment. Then, he smiled. “Ha! Haha! Yeah! I was! I can't believe you remember me!” He did a flip in mid-air. You smile. You had finally met Winter for real! And, that friend was... Jack Frost!

“(y/n)! Jamie! Where are you?!” You jump at the sound of Zack's voice.

“I forgot all about Zack!” You said remembering you left him with Sophie. “We're over here, Zack!” You call.

Zack rushed over to you while carrying Sophie. “(y/n)! Jamie!” He looked down at you and noticed your puffy eyes and drenched clothes.  “What happened?! (y/n), are you okay?!”

You laugh and stand up to face Zack. “We're both okay! And, we're both alive!” Zack gave you a confused look. He looked at you, then Jamie, and then spotted the hole and cracks in the lake. His mouth dropped wide open. Obviously, he had pieced together what happened. Well, most of it. Minus, Jack Frost that is. You could tell Zack couldn't see Jack.

“Jack, Jack! Where bunny?” Sophie asked. I'll ask Jamie what that means later.

Zack took a deep breath. As if calming his worries and anger. You could tell he thought you fell in because you were soaked from head to toe, and Jamie hardly had a drop of water on him. Only his feet were wet from the splash you heard before Jack caught him. You, on the other hand, had been splashing around in the water searching for Jamie.

“Come on, kiddo. You must be freezing! Jamie, Sophie, let's walk (y/n) home and get her dried off.” Zack said with a smile. He set Sophie down, took his jacket off, and wrapped it around you. You gladly accepted it upon realizing how cold you were. He helped you up and led you, Jamie, and Sophie away. You look back at the pond over your shoulder. You frown. Jack's gone.

By the time you reach your home, you are shivering and your lips are blue. Zack walks you into your house and helps you find some dry clothes. He makes you some soup and offers you everything he can.

“I-I'll be be fine. You go and watch out for Jamie and Soph, okay? I'll take a shower, eat the soup and go to bed. Don't worry!” You say slightly stuttering.

He nods. “Call me if you need anything.”

“I will!” You say as you wave good-bye. You shut the front door. And, head upstairs for you're shower. The warm water burns against your frostbitten skin. You ache but eventually get used to it. The warm it comforting but for some reason, you didn't like it much. You skate out of the shower, dry off and get dressed. You head downstairs and eat your (favorite soup). It melts in your mouth. You quickly finish it off. Zack can definitely cook. He'll make a nice woman very happy one day. You suddenly realize you were blushing!

“What am I thinking?!” You yell out loud! At that moment, you hear a thump! What was that? It came from upstairs! A burglar?! You grab the first thing you can find to defend yourself, a frying pan! You cautiously walk up stairs and turn the corner. Nothing. You check your parents' room. Nothing. You slowly approach your room. You take a deep breath. You kick the door open and go charging, frying pan in hand, toward the burglar!

“Hey! Watch it! What are you trying to do?!”

What? That voice. You shout in surprise!

“Jack Frost?!”
:icondestroyplz: NON-STOP WRITING!!! NO SLEEP!!! I HOPE YOU LIKE THIS 'CAUSE I BEEN WRITING IT FOR EIGHT HOURS STRAIGHT!!!!!! I THINK I'M GOING TO-- :iconwarmandcomfyplz:
So, here it is! Chapter 2 of my first Jack Frost fanfiction!!! :icononioncleanplz: So, I got random inspiration while doing mine and my family's laundry at the laundry mat with my father. I sat down and began to write like crazy. This fanfiction actually has a lot of my past memories intertwined in it. Like, for example, the part where Sophie keeps falling. That was me as a child. It's a wonder that I don't have brain damage!

You do meet Jack in this chapter! Have fun, 'cause it gets dramatic quickly!

Edit: Sorry guys! There's something I forgot to tell you! The cake in this story is a reference to another fanfiction I have read. It was one of the first Jack FrostXReader fanfictions I had ever read, so I wanted to add in a reference to it. I was too tired to remember to credit it, though! The fanfiction is called "I Believe in Love," and it was written by :icondarkershadow348:. It's a great story! You guys should check it out! Here's the link. [link] The way we made the reader meet Jack Frost is very similar! This was not intended! I revived this scene from one of my old Jack Frost fanfictions that I never wrote down, and that was before I ever read her fanfiction. And, she never heard about my old one, so neither one of us plagiarzed off of each other, okay? She is one of my watchers and knows that I made the cake reference, too. I also watch her. Anyway, if you like my story, you probably will like hers.

Jack Frost, Jamie and other people from Rise of the Guardians are not mine and belong to Dreamworks.

Zack and the plot is mine! (Hehe, and so are you!)
